Ronald W. Hass

Ronald W. Hass, 68, of Eau Claire passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020.

Ronald was born to the late Eamil and Thelma (Goldner) Hass of Eau Claire. After graduating from Eau Claire High School, Ronald married Jeanne (Griffin) Hass. During the course of their 48-year marriage, Ronald and Jeanne raised three children and welcomed three grandchildren.

Ronald was a hard-working and humble man. He was a loving and doting husband and father. Ronald was a devoted son, brother, and loyal friend. A local business owner, servicing southwest Michigan for nearly 50 years as a self-employed roofing contractor, Ron was an active member of his community. Ron loved spending time with his family and friends. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially watching his children’s sports events.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Eamil and Thelma (Goldner) Hass; nephew, Kerry Hass; mother-in-law, Florence Yomes; father-in-law, Gene Griffin; brother-in-law, Frank Griffin; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Hass and Cynthia Griffin.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Jeanne; sons, Benjamin (Leah Hoge) and Christopher (Kathy) Hass; daughter, Melissa (Stephen) Rossiter; grandchildren: Molly Rossiter, Hanley and Nora Hass; brothers, James (Ruth) and John (Connie) Hass; sisters, Jean (Terry) Rockwell and Susan (Robert) Guse. He is also survived by his Uncle Donald (Lorraine) Hass and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Sodus, according to Covid-19 guidelines, with a visitation at 1 p.m. and a celebration of Ron’s life starting at 2 p.m. A private graveside service will follow at Shanghai Cemetery.
