Mike David Layman

Mike David Layman, a husband, brother, and life-long farmer, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, in Buchanan, MI, at the age of 71. Born on December 27, 1952, in Berrien Center, MI, Mike's life left an indelible impact on all who knew him.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman. His love for the natural world was expressed through his enthusiasm for hunting, camping, hiking, and canoeing. These activities were not just hobbies but a testament to his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for the beauty of the land he worked on. Mike's sense of adventure was complemented by his love for travel, as he and his beloved friend and wife, Jayne, journeyed across the United States, creating a tapestry of memories that will be treasured forever.

Mike is also survived by his brother, Mark Layman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Layman and Arlene (Bodtke) Layman.

Those who knew Mike will remember him as a kind soul, and a man whose friendship and wit were gifts that enriched the lives of many. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

 Memorial contributions can be made in Mike’s honor to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
