Melvin D. Enders, 74, of Eau Claire, died Saturday night, August 26, 2017, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, August 31, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with Rev. James Bartz officiating. Burial will follow in Caldwell Cemetery, Eau Claire. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. until service time at noon at the church, and to leave online messages at www.bowermanfuneral.com. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
Melvin was born August 31, 1942, in Pipestone Township, the son of Dale and Wilma (Stombaugh) Enders, and he was a lifetime resident. He had worked for Gast Manufacturing where he was a tool and die worker. His leisure activities included deer hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed his tractor and attending tractor-pull events, as well as playing horseshoes.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan (Michael) Snoeyink of Grandville, Michigan; two sons: Robert (Tracie) Enders of Cassopolis and Douglas Enders of Eau Claire; five grandchildren: Kayla (Ryan) Conner, Matthew Enders, Lauren Snoeyink, Anna Snoeyink, and Rachael Snoeyink; sister, Donna (Fred) Whitman of Berrien Center; brother, Paul Enders of Portage, Michigan; brother-in-law, Al Ritsema also of Portage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He married Patti “Pat” Priebe June 29, 1962, and she preceded him in death in 2013. Also preceding him were his parents; and a sister, Roberta Ritsema.
