Mary Berneice "Bea" Felton

Mary Berneice "Bea" Felton, 79, of Watervliet passed away January 6, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville. Online messages www.bowermanfuneral.com.

Bea was born May 31, 1938 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to Elbert and Lucy (Moody) Johnson. She was a kind, loving, and independent woman who stood strong in the face of life’s hardships. After losing her husband in 1980, she entered the workforce. She enjoyed caring for the elderly, working at various locations in Eau Claire where she always met a friend. In 1990, she began working for Berrien General Hospital. Bea retired in 2000 and cherished her many co-workers and maintained a lifetime friendship. The most important "job" she had in life was being a Foster Grandparent at the Hartford Public Schools from 2002 to 2014. Grandma Bea loved helping the children learn. Nothing was more important to her than her family.

Bea is survived by her children: Maryann (Mark) Worl of Watervliet and Darrel (Ramona) Felton Sr. of Eau Clarie; grandchildren: Jason (Kari) Felton, Chad Worl, Cara Burrows, Darrel (Samantha) Felton Jr. and Thomas Felton; great-grandchild, Abby Burrows; special nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis E. Felton; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Tracey Felton; brother, Elmer (Vergie) Johnson; and sister, Velma (Rayburn) Taylor.
