Lynn Duane Brown, 76, of Sodus, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Friends are invited for a time of visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire. A graveside service will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sodus. Lynn was born February 5, 1942, in St. Joseph, the son of Gerald “Jerry” and Beatrice (Poling) Brown. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School. On November 17, 1961, he married Renda Cochran. He worked as a meat cutter for Hilltop Grocery and Harding’s Market for 45 years, and he also served as sexton for Pipestone and Sodus Township cemeteries for over 20 years. He took over the family coal business and operated Sodus Coal since 1990. Lynn was an avid Cubs fan, and he liked to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include his wife, Renda; sons, Bryan (Bonnie) of Coloma and Jeff (Missy) of Sodus; three grandchildren: Ashley (Guy) Cornell, Justin and Brandon Brown; two great-grandchildren: Makenzie and Charlotte Cornell; sister, Diane (Gary) Price of Sodus; nephew, Trett Price; special friends, Tracy and Leonard Stachowski; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Bruce Allen Brown.
