Loretta Margaret (Kesterke) Teske, 99, of Niles, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Aug. 3, 2021.
She was born April 1, 1922, in Baroda, the daughter of Elmer and Martha (Hermann) Kesterke. She married Theodore Teske on May 12, 1944, at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Niles. Loretta’s hobbies were gardening, crocheting and knitting. She was a homemaker and also worked for a number of years as a nurse’s aide at Berrien General Hospital.
Loretta is survived by three daughters: Carol (Ferenc) Szabo of Mishawaka, Ruth (Leatrice) Anderson of Chicago, and Mary (James) Schultz of Coloma; her son, Michael (Beth) Teske of Niles; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972; her parents; two sisters, Arlene Kesterke and Evelyn (Kesterke) Hebner; and two brothers, Wilbur Kesterke and Elmer Kesterke Jr.
Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, where friends may visit from 10-11 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs. Messages and memories may be shared at www.bowermanfuneral.com.
