John Larry Souers, 78, of Eau Claire, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at his home.
Larry was born June 29, 1942, in St. Joseph to Stanley and Frieda (Adams) Souers. He worked in construction for Souers Construction, then became an independent contractor.
He loved riding his Harley, mushroom hunting, going to deer camp with his sons and friends, and fishing at the Souers lake. He loved to travel to South Dakota to the Black Hills and Sturgis Rally – he called Deadwood, South Dakota his second home. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He had also been a member of the Eau Claire Lions Club and the Benton Harbor Moose Lodge.
Larry loved his family. His face lit the world when his grand- and great-grandkids showed up. He is survived by his wife, Vally (Trowbridge) Souers; three sons: John, Larry, and Roger Souers; daughter, Beth (David) Carey; brother, Ron Stokes; three brothers-in-law: Tim, Allan, and Doug Trowbridge; three sisters: Missy Stanford Healey (David), Becky Lynch, and Karen Stanford; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Souers.
