Jimmie Ruth Williams, 92, of Eau Claire, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 20, 2021, surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 27, at the Greater Community Christian Fellowship, 870 Nate Wells Sr. Drive, Benton Harbor. Friends may visit 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., and the service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Caldwell Cemetery, Eau Claire. Messages may be left online at www.bowermanfuneral.com.
She was born Oct. 29, 1928 in Houlka, Miss. She loved big gatherings with family and friends, listening to music, watching softball games, and playing cards. She loved to joke, have fun and make others around her laugh. She had a genuine heart for people.
Jimmie Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Alma Hightower; son, Harold Pulliam; brother, Edward Hightower; sisters, Lounette Blackburn and Less Davenport; great-grandson, Juwan Stevens; sons-in-law, Harold Baber Sr. and Floyd “Sleepy” Bell.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Jackie Hightower; nine daughters: Carol Baber, Joyce Williams, JoAnne Wright, Annette Williams, Rheba Bell, Diane Williams, Marilyn Williams, Denise Mitchell and Sharee Williams; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; long-time friend, Archie; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
