James Dedic, 87, of Berrien Center, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Monday, November 6, at Berrien Center Bible Church, with Pastor Robert Pruitt of the Coloma Bible Church officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Coloma Bible Church for Michigan Migrant Ministries. Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire, has been entrusted with arrangements, and friends may leave online condolences at www.bowermanfuneral.com.
James was born January 25, 1930, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Marie (Urban) Dedic. He served his country with the United States Army from 1951-1953. On December 17, 1954, he married Ann Petermann. He worked for International Harvester, where he tested farm equipment.
Survivors include his eight children: Jim, June (Jack) Tomkinson, Jinger (Gregg) Searles, John (Ruthy), Joel (Karmela), Jeff (Lynda), Jennie (Alan) French, and Jeremy (Melanie); 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brother, Joseph of DeWitt, Michigan; and his sister, Ruth (Paul) Phillippi of Guatemala.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, in 2015.
