He was born to Earsie Lee Davis and Leonard Davis on Sept. 14, 1956 in Jonestown, Miss., the fifth of 10 children. As a child he moved with his family to Michigan and later resided in Chicago, but he lived the majority of his adult life in Benton Harbor.

He was always the life of the party, always laughing and playing with the kids. In his later life, he enjoyed watching television and eating. Sports, The Price Is Right, and Let’s Make A Deal were some of his favorite programs.

Ivory leaves to cherish his memory, his two daughters: Giovanna Prowell and Christina Beatrice Thomas; three grandchildren: Darsie King, Linda Clincy, Mia Thomas; two great-grandchildren: Sahja Gianna Smith and Garry Bernard Harris; his siblings: Lonnie (Angela) Davis, Vertilla Caldwell, Mercine Jackson and Earsie (Roger) Harden.
