Henry 'Hank' Young

March 20, 1955 — November 28, 2016

Henry “Hank” Young, 61, of Berrien Center passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 28, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He had fought cancer courageously for almost a year.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bowerman Funeral Home of Eau Claire. A celebration of life gathering including a buffet will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 2, at Berrien Center Bible Church, 8830 M 140, Berrien Center. He was born March 20, 1955 to Ed and Rita Young, who preceded him in death. He grew up in the Eau Claire area. Hank served on the Pipestone-Berrien Township-Eau Claire Fire Department for 43 years. He was a mentor and brother in arms to all he served with, and he loved serving his community. He also loved being a member of Abate, and riding his motorcycle all around the country with his wife. He went to Baldwin, Michigan, every year for the Blessing of the Bikes. He also enjoy playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, who was the love of his life; his sister, Pamela of Florida; sons, Bill (Tonja) of Buchanan, and Chuck of Eau Claire. Also his five little monsters (Kami, Xander, Zeke, Arya, and Thorin) who meant the world to him.

Hank was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, who will donate it in his honor.
