Edna A. Wheeler, 83, of Sodus passed away peacefully at 12:21 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
She was born June 6, 1934 in Giles, Tennessee to Ole and Mary Ella James. She married the love of her life, Otis “Bud” Wheeler Jr. on July 14, 1967. Some of her many jobs included Heath Company, K-Mart, Paramount Die Cast, and Lake Michigan College. She was a very talented person using her loving hands quilting, gardening, cooking, and playing a guitar with excellence. She was a hard worker on the job and around the house. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing pinochle.
Edna is survived by her husband, Otis “Bud” Wheeler Jr.; her children: Michael (Jeana) Gilliam, Karen Kopp, Steven (Eloise) Rydecki, Peggy (Joe) Yacklich, John (Diane) Rydecki, and Otis Mark (Sandra) Wheeler III; stepchildren: Barry (Pam) Wheeler, David Wheeler, and Louann (Jerry) Bauer; her sister, Louise Scott; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Mary Ella James; brother, Ray James; Aunt Audrey and Uncle Alvie James; granddaughter, Tracy Rydecki; great-granddaughters Annika Watkins, Melissa Townly, and Amanda Gilliam; and stepson, Bill Wheeler.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire. Friends may meet with the family beginning at noon. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sodus. Memorials may be given to Hanson Hospice Center. Online messages www.bowermanfuneral.com.
