Donna Mae Bailey

Donna Mae Bailey, 90, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021. She was at home with family by her side.

Donna was born January 2, 1931, in Benton Harbor to the late Roger and Lillian (Harris) Souers. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1949. She worked at Love Tractor for several years, then for Eau Claire Public Schools food service for over 40 years. After retiring, she volunteered at Berrien General Hospital Gift Shop. Throughout her married life, Donna also farmed with her husband and family. Her entire life was dedicated to God, family, and community.

Donna married Leonard Bailey on April 25, 1953. Together they raised their five children and opened their home to many more. Donna had the ability to make everyone who came into her life feel they were truly special.

Those left behind to cherish memories are sons: L. Paul (Peggy), Donald (Sonya), Mike (Kathy) Bailey; daughter, Terry Rios; daughter-in-law, Deborah Bailey; sister, Jean Zahrn; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leonard; her son, Roger; and granddaughter, Baby Rios.

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire. Services will be at Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet, with visitation beginning at noon and service at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 29. Share memories www.bowermanfuneral.com.
