Donald Lee Wheeler, 38, former area resident, now of Holland, died Friday, May 13, 2016, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
He was born June 24, 1977, in Berrien Center, the son of Gail (Erwin) and Randall Wheeler. He was an auto mechanic by trade. His leisure enjoyments included NASCAR, video games, and building computers.
Survivors include his mother, Gail Erwin of Stevensville; his wife, Debra Dimock-Wheeler of Holland; children, Zachary and Eliza Wheeler of St. Joseph, Donovan and Alysa Wheeler of South Haven; stepchildren, Cyrus, Phoenix, and Mercedes Dimock of Holland; brothers, Joshua (Jewel) Wheeler of Berrien Center, and Nathan Wheeler of Stevensville; sister, Rebecca (Mike) Fillmore of St. Joseph; nieces and nephews, Joshua, Kylee, Lexee, Christopher, Jacob, Owen, Corey, and Alexis; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Randall Wheeler; grandparents, Donald and Helen Wheeler and Jerry and D. Jean Erwin; and uncle, Rick Wheeler.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in the Community Center of Spring Lake MHC, 604 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville. Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire, is assisting the family, and online messages may be left at www.bowermanfuneral.com.
