Connie Joe Drane

Connie Joe Drane, 74, of Eau Claire, died Monday morning, October 29, 2018, at his home.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire. Online memories and messages may be shared at www.bowermanfuneral.com. Private burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery, Decatur, Michigan.

He was born October 7, 1944, in Moulton, Alabama, the son of Cleveland and Bernice Drane. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving his country with the United States Army. He worked as a welder, building steel shelving. His leisure enjoyments included restoring cars and hunting.

Survivors are his son, Jeremy Drane of Eau Claire; his daughter, Shannon (Paul Zelmer) Drane of Eau Claire; four grandchildren: Michelle and Justyn Drane and Ryin and Kaylynn Zelmer; one brother, Carlton (Nancy) Drane of Decatur; and two sisters, Betty (Scott) Ellwood of Edwardsburg and Pat (Tim) Toner of Dowagiac.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Drane; and two sisters, Barbara Nard and Deborah Weaver.
