E. Carlene Luft, 86, died Friday, October 11, 2019, at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 14, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, where friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1 p.m. until service time. Pastor Jim Bartz will officiate, and burial will be in Shanghai Cemetery, Eau Claire. Online messages and memories may be shared at www.bowermanfuneral.com. Memorial gifts may be made to the church.
Carlene was born January 24, 1933, in Manistique, Michigan, the daughter of Carl and Eva (Smithers) Linderoth. She married John “Jack” Luft on June 9, 1951, in St. Joseph. In addition to caring for their family, Carlene had been a waitress at The Whitcomb and for Tosi’s Restaurant.
She is survived by a son, Richard Luft of Hartford; a daughter, Jacqueline Warren of Eau Claire; five grandchildren: Dana Hippensteel, Dawn Berkelhamer, Ryan Luft, John Luft, and Miriah Luft; five great-grandchildren: Shane Wheaton, Kacie Berkelhamer, Devin Berkelhamer, Bella Burk, and Tyler Burk; and a sister, Inez Joy Jorgensen of Texas.
Carlene was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, on October 10, 1994; and three sisters: Ruth Hass, Eva Piggott, and Betty Carrington.
